Hi – I’m Emy, fluent in English and Arabic. I finished my bachelor degree in 2007 with honours, and practiced my intern year in 2008 gaining experience in musculoskeletal, neurological, gynecological and paediatrics..
I worked as a physiotherapist in Egypt for approximately 10 years. Initially I worked as a physiotherapist at St Antony Association for Handicapped Children; this association is dedicated for children with special needs from 0-18years e.g hemiplegia, quadriplegia, paraplegia and erb’s palsy.
I have experience in working at public and private hospitals; including the Greek and Italian hospital. This helped me to gain excellent experience in a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders e.g planter fasciitis, rehabilitation after total hip and knee replacement, all lumbar pathologies including mechanical low back pain and discogenic pain, sciatica, scoliosis, frozen shoulder and also cervical rehabilitation programs. My main interest is in musculoskeletal disorders.
I worked at the Good Shepherd hospital from 2008 as a senior physiotherapist and gradually was promoted to consultant physiotherapist.
In 2012, I finished my masters degree with a research project that assessed the relationship of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and how we can use the gym (especially the treadmill) to improve the insulin level.
As an overseas physiotherapist I respect the diversity of patients regarding their cultural and linguistics difference. I am an enthusiastic physiotherapist and my passion in life is to see people without pain or disabilities.
I love charity work, and still do charity work in Egypt during my holiday. I have lived in Doncaster for seven years and am still practicing the charity work here at St Mary and St Moses charity, inside Christ the King Church in Rossington to help homeless people.
So – I will do my best to see my patient’s smile and encourage them to stay active and help them during their journey of recovery. I can also offer weight management strategies.
