Amy is a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist who has recently commenced her MSc in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University. She came to us after working at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. She always strives to broaden her experience and undertakes regular MSK CPD. She has worked as a volunteer at numerous sporting events, e.g. European Wheelchair basketball tournaments, Sheffield half marathon, Rother Valley Charity 10K and England Women’s under 21 rugby camp.
Until 2020 she also provided MSK physiotherapy clinics and provides pitch side first aid support for a local amateur rugby union team – The Thornensians. She worked on pre & post-game therapy, including taping, pitch side first aid for the first team and a weekly physiotherapy clinic for all teams. She also implemented rehabilitation programmes to treat a wide range of injuries enabling players to return to the game safely.
On a personal interest, Amy is also a Level 2 ice skating coach and she has represented GB in international figure skating competitions during her time as a competitive figure skater.
Amy has a keen interest in movement control, delivering one to one and small group Pilates classes. She is also the main point of contact for video assessment of movement, analysing running styles and functional movement and setting bespoke rehabilitation programs.
Amy has also worked within the extended access program for the NHS but now takes on a senior physiotherapist role alongside Elly Kirk with the aim of managing day to day services and growing the practice.
