Coronavirus – Covid-19

CORONAVIRUS – COVID-19 & Chapman Physiotherapy

We know there is a lot of confusion and misinformation about the Covid-19 Pandemic. We want to keep you up to date with what is happening and how we are keeping you safe and healthy when we see you.

Physiotherapists and Podiatrists are HCPC registered and regulated professionals. We have high standards to maintain in our cleanliness and decontamination process. You should always ensure who you see is HCPC registered for the highest quality and standards.

COVID19 UPDATE 15-06-2020

We opened on Monday 15th June following advice from the Government and regulatory body (HCPC) our professional body, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) & The College of Podiatry.

However, this does not mean that we are returning to normal.

The welfare of our patients is a priority to us and we are ensuring that we have the appropriate measures in place for your safety and ours.

What PPE will the Physiotherapist / Podiatrist be wearing?

Face mask

Single-use gloves

Single-use apron

New measures in place COVID-19 protocol for patients

When possible, we will ask you to update your medical / consent form digitally from home, if this cannot be done, we will ask you to sign a form on the day.

As we start to see patients for face to face consultations again, there are additional measures put in place for your safety and that of our staff.  Whilst this adds a considerable amount of time for our clinicians, there are guidelines from our governing body
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy & HCPC  which we have to follow.

All patients requesting a face to face appointment will be pre-screened by a member of staff over the telephone.  This will include (but is not limited to) questions regarding your medical history to allow the physiotherapist/podiatrist to determine your risk, clinical reasoning to ensure that a face to face consultation is required, and specific questions regarding Covid-19.  This is an essential requirement for us to open

When you attend for your appointment, we request that you wait in the car wherever possible.  At the time of your appointment please come to the back door.

When you attend for your appointment, we request that you wait outside the pharmacy wherever possible.  At the time of your appointment please enter via the main door on the High Street and make your way to the rear of the shop where there is a staircase.  At the top is the reception area.

The physiotherapist/Podiatrist will meet you, take your temperature using a contactless thermometer and ask you to wash your hands in the washbasin in the disabled washroom.

You MUST wear a facemask; if you do not have one, you may purchase a mask from us for £2.  This must be worn for the duration of the appointment.
The physiotherapist will be wearing a facemask, eye protection, gloves and apron.
The doors & windows will be opened to improve the ventilation in the building – weather permitting.
We retain the right to refuse to treat any patient who has an elevated temperature or symptoms of Covid-19.
Hand sanitiser will be available in each treatment room and communal areas.  We invite you to use this during your time in the practice as frequently as you wish.
The treatment room will be cleaned thoroughly between every patient; a 15-minute gap will be left to ensure that this is done properly.
Please pay by card if possible, to reduce the handling of cash.
Our social distancing measures have to be in place to keep the building safe for staff and patients.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We hope to see you soon.

Stay safe and well.
